Guntaponganalu

Ingredients :

  • Urad dal(minapa pappu)- 1 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds(mentulu)- 1/2 tsp
  • Rice-2 cups
  • Finely chopped onion- 1 small
  • finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Finely chopped green chilli - 3
  • Salt to taste


Preparation Method :

Soak all above ingredients in water for 6 hours.

Then drain it, grind all above ingredients with water into a fine paste. It should be in medium consistency. Pour this in a bowl and cover it with a lid. After 5 to 6 hours you can use this batter for making guntaponganalu. Add salt ,chillies,onion and coriander leaves to the batter before making .Mix it well.

Heat gunta ponganala patra on medium flame and pour or sprinkle 1tsp oil and then pour the batter in that, cover it with the lid and cook until it turns light brown in color.



Remove the lid , Turn it and again pour 1 tsp oil on it. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes . Remove it from patra and serve hot with peanut chutney ,coconutchutney or toor dal chutney.
