As i told in my previous post, i prepared this healthy bread with homemade dates paste along with whole wheat flour and oats...This bread suits prefectly for breakfast with butter and jam at the same time goes awesome for snacks with some nutella spread, the choice is yours..We enjoyed having this healthy bread both for our breakfast and snacks..Actually none noticed about the dates paste i have used in this bread, i was happy to finish my dates paste, as none at home loved them, this healthy bread goes for simple ingredients and we loved it....I dont want to prepare this bread as a loaf but as a round bread which i topped with some almond flakes to give a rich look..
- 2cups Whole wheat flour
- 1cup Rolled oats (grind as coarse powder)
- 1/2cup All purpose flour
- 3tbsp Dates paste
- 1+1/2tbsp Active dry yeast
- 1/2cup Luke warm water
- 1tsp Sugar
- 1tsp Salt
- 3tbsp Butter
- Almond flakes
Take the active dry yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl with luke warm water, let this mixture sit for 5minutes until the yeast turns foamy..Meanwhile take the whole wheat flour, coarse powdered oats, all purpose flour, butter, dates paste in a bowl and gradually add the foamy yeast to form a smooth and slightly sticky dough..Arrange this dough in greased bowl and keep in a warm place for an hour with lid closed..
After an hour, punch down the dough..knead gently and arrange them in a round shaped mould, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle the almond flakes as per need, cover the mould with a towel and keep again the dough in a warm place for an hour..
Preheat the oven to 350F, bake the bread in middle rack for 25-30minutes until the crust turns golden brown..Enjoy warm without any spread or else with jam or nutella with a cup of tea or coffee..
