FISH IN A CHILLI-GARLIC SAUCE ON RICE BOWL


I always like simple meal like dal-chaval(rice and lentil curry) or rice and a simple curry.One bowl meal or rice bowls are my favorite for ever.If it is a biriyani,pulao or South Indian pulihora or bisi bele bath I can enjoy them with out any side dish.This rice bowl dishes are popular in Japan.Japanese serves this rice bowls with varies sauces on top of rice with meat or vegetables.Here comming to this recipe, this is not a japanese version,but inspired by japanese rice bowle recipes. In this recipe I used fish, other then fish you can use boneless chicken,mushroom,paneer, tofu or broccoli.And here I go with the recipe.

- Cooked Basmati rice --- 3 cups
- Boneless fish fillets -- 3/4 cup cut in to cubes
- Red chilli paste -- 1 tab sp
- Salt --- 1 tea sp or according to taste
- Soya sauce --- 1 tab sp
- Cornflour --- 2 tab sp
- Oil ---- 4 tab sp
- Garlic chopped --- 8 cloves
- Ginger chopped --- 1 inch piece
- Celery chopped --- 1 inch stalk
- Tomato ketchup --- 3 tab sp
- Red chilli sauce -- 1 tea sp
- Stock or water --- 2 cups ( can use fish stock)
- Onion -- 1 small cut in to cubes
- Green capsicum -- 1 small cut in to cubes
- Red capsicum -- 1 small cut in to cubes
1. Take fish pieces in to a bowl add red chilli paste,salt,half tab sp soy sauce mix well, add 1 tab sp cornflour and mix well.
2. Heat 1& 1/2 tab sp oil in a non stick pan.Add the fish pieces and shallow fry turn both sides and cook till done.
3.Heat 1&1/2 tab sp oil in a other pan add chopped ginger, garlic,celery and saute for one minute.
4.Add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce and the remaining soy sauce and give a nice stir.Add stock bring to boil in a medium heat.
5.Mix the remaining cornflour with1/4 cup water add to the sauce.
6.Add fried fish pieces to the sauce and let it cook in a low heat for a few minutes. 7. Heat remaining oil in a other pan and saute onion,red and green capsicum cubes till well glazed.
8. Place coked rice in individual bowls heat in a microwave (if require) for 1 minute,remove from microwave and pour fish with chill,garlic sauce over the rice.
9.Garnish with sauted onion and green,red capsicum cubes,Serve immediately.
