Tomato Rice


Ingrediants :
- Rice - 2 cups
- tomatoes - 4
- onion - 1 big (finally chopped)
- green chillies - 3 or 4 (finally chopped)
- ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- coriander powder - 1 or 2 tsp
- water - 3 cups
- oil - 1/4 cup
- salt to taste
- Some coriander leaves.
For Spicy :
- cinaminon pieces - 2
- star anise - 1
- caradomons - 1
- cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- bay leaf - 2
Preparation Method :
Soak rice in water at least 30 minutes.Drain and keep it aside.
Blend tomatoes to make a puree.
Heat oil in a kadai or presser cooker.
Add whole spices and stir well until the whole things start splitter.
Add chopped onions and green chillies fry them till change the light golden color.
Now add ginger garlic paste stril for a minute and add the tomato puree fry this till raw smell is off.
Add rice, mix well and continue to stir for a minute.
Add 3 cups of water, mix well. Add salt and some coriander leaves, mix again.
Pressure cook upto 2 whistles on high flame.
When done garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with onion raita.
Preparation for Onion rita :
- curd - 1cup
- onion - 1 smaill (finally chopped)
- green chillies - 1 (cut into small pieces)
- some coriander leaves
- salt to taste.
Add all items and combine well.
Note:You can also add carrot.
